Each year, the World Tourism Organization calls on people of all ages and walks of life to participate and celebrate the World Tourism Day in their respective countries or in different places of destination for the holiday.

Celebrated World Tourism Day organizing facts about logos chosen by the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization, the recommendation of the Executive Council of the Organization.
And directs the Secretary General of the Organization in a message each year to celebrate the occasion, and will preside over the official celebrations.
The establishment of the World Tourism Day
General Assembly decided that the World Tourism Organization at its third session (Torremolinos, Spain, September / September 1979) the establishment of the World Tourism Day, starting from the year 1980 and I was selected this date to coincide with a landmark event in the history of tourism, namely, the anniversary of the adoption of the Statute of the organization, on September 27 / September 1970.
World Tourism Day celebration comes at a very appropriate time, ie by the end of the peak season in the northern half of the globe, and in the beginning of the season in the southern hemisphere, when tourism in mind the millions of people in the world.
